Happy Birthdays 30 April

2 Cubs peeping at us on the S21

A very Happy Birthday to our special son Quintin. 30th April. Hope the family spoils you rotten. We will certainly raise a glass at sundowners.

Settling in to camp life at Lower Sabie, still 14 days to go before we move to Satara.
We went to Skukuza for lunch with Michelle, Gerald, Kim and Callum at the Cattle Baron, great meal and good company.

On Thursday we are going into Komatipoort with Corrie and Nonnie to have breakfast at the golf club, I am told it is the best in the area, with LM prawns to die for. It is also Corries birthday (70 I think…?) and this is his treat, we will celebrate both birthdays.

I am going to hire clubs and play 9 holes, Lettie is going to hire a cart (if available) and her and Corrie are going to ride while Nonnie and I walk (the 2 fit ones)

Vodacom is still playing up at Lower Sabie. We will upload as much as we can in Komatipoort when we find a WiFi hotspot.

Here is a collection of Photographs of our best sightings.
The highlight was a rare sighting of a Black Rhino, we are very privileged and fortunate to have seen this beautiful animal up close and get some good photos. We have only had a few sightings in the past and too fleetingly to get decent shots, how lucky we are. We are not disclosing the location to protect the species.
SAVE OUR RHINO

PS.  A  photo of a new painting which has been completed of a Fish Eagle has been added to my Art page.

Not spotting many Lion not even hearing them at night, but plenty more time left and I am sure we will get good sightings

Freedom day 3 day Update

The network is down here at Lower Sabie and it is taking ages to connect to the blog let alone upload photos. So until the 3 G is working properly I wont upload photos.

Corrie and Nonnie our friends arrived on Friday 24 April they are staying here at Lower Sabie for 65 days. Good to see them again.

Made new friends Archie and Judith Pearce from P.E. they are doing a similar trip to us and we should meet up with them at Letaba when we hope to exchange sites. They have a beautiful caravan a Sensation Vee. this is what we have been looking for as the ultimate in luxury. we will seriously consider this one. Any one interested in our caravan.

The camp is very busy with the double long weekends and 3 school holidays in between. It should return to normal next week. Weather is good, on day hovers around 30 C and night around 16C.

We had a very good sighting of a male leopard next to the road and got some good shots, a little further on we had a second sighting of another very large Leopard. If you followed our Blog last year you will see that we really battled to see Leopard but saw plenty lion. This year it seems to be the other way round.

Come on VODACOM sort the problem out
